KORE Connections: Lisa Nelson, Senior Carrier Data Manager

4 minute read

Here at KORE, we love to highlight the spectacular talent working daily to bring you seamless connectivity and groundbreaking IoT solutions. This month, we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on Lisa Nelson, Manager of Senior Carrier Data here at KORE.

Lisa has been a part of the KORE family for over 15 years, and she now works in the Atlanta office after relocating from the Boston area in 2017 where she lived for 30 years. When she isn't working, Lisa can be found with her husband of 33 years and her 3 rescue cats. (Adopt don't shop!). Before she made the move to Georgia, Lisa often could be found skiing on the New England slopes, drag racing, or on a beach in Maine! Now that she calls Georgia her home, Lisa loves spending time at vineyards or hiking to waterfalls in the North Georgia Mountain.

Q: You’ve been with KORE for over 8 years! What does it mean to you to be an #IoTer?
A: Being an IoTer means that we all work as one. I am blessed to be part of an amazing team where nobody has an ego. We collaborate and reach out to each other and colleagues around the globe to get the job done.

Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job?
A:
As cliché as it might sound, I love finding ways to save KORE money! Every day brings a new challenge, along with the opportunity to make something better.

Q: What is something most people would not expect about you?
A: I have driven a car from 0 to over 150 MPH in less than 10 seconds (legally)!

Q: If you could take a dream vacation, where would you go and what would you do?
A: I want to tour Thailand. Starting in Bangkok at Wat Phra Kaew, a sumptuous and colored temple famous for its Emerald Buddha made of jade, then make my way to the Royal Palace. I would go on to Chiang Mai, where I want to see Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of the most sacred temples in northern Thailand containing a holy relic of the Lord Buddha and make a visit to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. My next stop would be Phuket, where I will certainly enjoy crystal-clear water, white sandy beaches, mountain views, and delicious cuisine.

Q: What does your daily routine look like?
A: Coffee…Check my emails to make sure there is no crisis that has occurred overnight…. breakfast…More Coffee! Meetings, playing detective to find more ways to save money, or fix a problem.

Q: Do you have any resolutions for 2025?
A: Spend money on experiences rather than things! When I think about all the “things” I thought I needed but really could have done without, I can’t help but think of all the money that’s gone to waste. Choosing to indulge in experiences rather than material things will leave you feeling fulfilled for much longer. After all, when we all reflect on our lives, we won’t remember the makeup, shoes, and clothes. We will remember the memories made doing fun activities with the people we love the most.

Q: Tell us a little bit about your office. What do you keep on your desk?
A: My office is more known for what is behind my desk versus what is on it – I have a 3ft “holiday tree” that is changed out depending on the holiday/season. The obvious décor would be Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St Paddy’s, Easter, then into patriotic mode with Memorial Day & July 4th. Next comes summer, fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving. It has become the topic of conversation in more than a few meetings (LOL).
