KORE Highlights from Mobile World Congress Los Angeles 2019

As we close out another Mobile World Congress, I’m once again amazed at the volume of exciting growth in the IoT space. Each year, our customers and partners continue to raise the bar in the rapid-fire world of IoT. I’ll leave you with just a few final thoughts on what KORE introduced and shared at the show, as well as the observations we picked up over the past several days.

Today, KORE President and CEO Romil Bahl led a highly anticipated keynote address about strategizing for long-term IoT success. In his presentation titled How to Navigate the Fragmented IoT Ecosystem, MWC attendees gained key insights for maximizing every stage of the IoT solution lifecycle - from creating a strategy and building business cases and PoCs to generating and gathering data-driven analytics and insights. Romil’s expert guidance on how to select the optimal IoT technology mix and partner ecosystem to simplify the complexity of IoT deployments was well received by an eager audience.

IoT Platforms and Security

One message we heard loud and clear in our meetings is that organizations need a powerful platform to rapidly develop new IoT applications and services.  An open, scalable foundation to deploy, manage, and scale solutions quickly, easily and cost-effectively will enable innovation, business agility, and speed-to-market. The new KORE One platform was well-received and we look forward to seeing how organizations will use it to transform their businesses.

MWC attendees were also concerned with safeguarding their IoT data and devices. Conversations about SecurityPro, the new KORE network diagnostic and security tool that provides network visibility and actionable intelligence, also generated interest and excitement.

Multiple Carriers = Multiple Challenges

Large-scale IoT deployments demand multiple carrier connections, which have become a logistical nightmare for some organizations. At MWC, technology leaders expressed the need for a tool that efficiently manages, monitors, and controls IoT network connectivity across multiple carriers through a single user interface. KORE introduced ConnectivityPro, an elegant solution to these complex challenges.

IoT for Good

Perhaps more than any other topic at the show, the demand for technology initiatives that support the greater good resonated strongly. The highly regarded Living Wall donation brought KORE, GSMA, and Sagegreenlife together to highlight the industry’s deep commitment to solving complex challenges with IoT technology.

The Living Wall is an innovative intersection of IoT technology and sustainability created by Sagegreenlife. It’s covered with live plants that utilize KORE IoT technology to self-irrigate with a fraction of the water, maintenance, and cost to deliver 10 times the water efficiency. We can only imagine how the NEW Academy of Science and Art Learning Center students will use the wall as an ongoing inspiration to improve our world in future generations.
