Vivian Cardoso currently serves as the CX Senior Director of Global Technical Support and has been a part of the KORE team for nearly seven years. She has a background in several fields including law, business administration, marketing, and professional sales, along with multiple certifications in related fields. Vivian’s native language is Spanish, but English and Portuguese have been instrumental in effectively communicating with her diverse teams and stakeholders. She is passionate about technology, building 5-star high-performing teams that embody excellence and embrace change, achieving operational excellence, helping others, and making a positive impact in the world. Vivian finds joy in guiding her teams, leading change, and inspiring others to reach their aspirations.
Q: What are you doing in your role right now?
A: In my current role, I have the privilege of leading the Global Technical Support (GTS) organization, working alongside a remarkable team of individuals. This position has been an incredibly rewarding experience that combines both fascination and challenges. As our organization continues to grow, embrace new technologies, and expand our services and offerings, the scope of GTS becomes increasingly comprehensive.
A significant portion of my focus is dedicated to empowering our teams and equipping them with the necessary resources to excel in their roles. Furthermore, I actively collaborate with other functional leaders to assess areas for improvement in cross-functional processes by identifying optimization strategies and enhancing efficiency,
Overall, my role as a leader in the Global Technical Support organization revolves around nurturing our teams, increasing efficiency, driving process improvements, and ultimately enhancing customer experiences. I am passionate about these responsibilities and committed to achieving outstanding results in all these areas.
Q: What is the most important decision you have ever made so far?
A: There have been a couple of decisions that have shaped my life. However, one decision stands out as having a profound impact on both my personal and professional journey: the decision to leave my home country, Cuba, and seek a better future in the United States.
This decision has brought transformative changes to my life in countless ways. Words cannot adequately express the depth of my gratitude for this country and the opportunities it has afforded me. The United States welcomed me with open arms, and it taught me the invaluable lesson that with determination and hard work, anything is achievable from attending Harvard Business School to becoming a woman in leadership in an industry that has traditionally been dominated by males.
The decision I made nearly a decade ago continues to resonate deeply with me every day. That decision brought me to KORE, and it has allowed me to create a brighter future for my family and raise my daughter in freedom. I am forever grateful for the transformative power of the decision I made, and I am dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of others as I continue my journey and inspire others to pursue their dreams.
Q: What movie do you wish you could watch again for the first time?
A: Family Man – that movie had such a big impact on me since the first time I saw it. The film beautifully explores the themes of love, family, and the choices we make in life. Each time I watch it, I find myself captivated by the emotional journey of the main character and the valuable lessons embedded within the narrative. Family Man is a film that inspires introspection and reflection. It prompts viewers to contemplate the importance of family, the impact of our decisions, and the true meaning of happiness. It’s one of those movies that has a timeless quality. Its messages and themes remain relevant and resonate with audiences across generations. It is the kind of film that I can revisit multiple times and still find inspiration, and new insights with each viewing.
Q: What three words would your friends use to describe you?
A: If asked, I believe my friends would say I am reliable, empathetic, and genuine. I strive to be someone my friends know they can count on in both the good times and especially the challenging times. I genuinely care about the well-being of everyone around me, and I do my best to put myself in their shoes and support them as needed. Ultimately, I built relations based on trust and honesty and I strive to be authentic and true to myself in every aspect of life.
Q: How has your perspective on the world changed over time?
A: I think my perspective on the world has undergone continuous evolution as I journey through life. We are all a result of our own life experiences. I feel like we are living at a rapid pace, and I have found it crucial to pause, reevaluate my path, and reaffirm my goals and priorities. The world we are living in could use more empathy, love, and kindness toward others to create a more harmonious and inclusive society. We should all strive to make a positive impact in the world. Life is so unpredictable that we need to treasure every single day as a new opportunity to be the best version of ourselves, live our best life, and work towards building the life we want to live.
