Q&A:
Q: How did you get started in this industry?
A: I got started in this industry in 1996 when I worked at a wireless company kiosk, “Let’s Talk Wireless” in Garden State Mall. I managed six locations across different wireless outlets in the New Jersey market as the District Manager.
Q: What is one thing that instantly makes your day better?
A: My day is instantly made better through preparation. Preparedness reduces stress and knowing each day is planned and organized allows me to stay on task. This is applied in both my personal and professional life. Completing daily tasks drives productivity and keeps my motivation at the highest level.
Q: What is your favorite vacation spot?
A: Mexico –Riviera Maya (either Playa de Carmen or Cozumel). That is where my wife, Ava, and I went for our honeymoon, what feels like a lifetime ago. Now most of our vacations are scheduled around our kids Amelia (12 year old) and Marcus (8 year old). Our most recent vacations are focused on traveling around the country for Amelia's soccer tournaments.
Q: What’s a skill you’d like to improve on?
A: The skill I most like to improve is the delegation of tasks. In most instances, I am a type-A personality and enjoy seeing tasks through to the end, with a hands-on approach. My goal is to empower my team, allowing them to grow within their positions. Strengthening this skill will increase productivity within my team and reduce my priority tasks so I can focus on the next project in my funnel. I am an advocate for upwards coaching and encourage my team to share feedback to improve current processes. This is in turn will drive increased performance and organizational results.
Q: What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?
A: “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” –Walt Disney
